WILLIAM G SHIELDS
Bill Shields is a native of Charleston, West Virginia.  In 1967, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  In 1974, he graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia Law School.  Mr. Shields has nearly 40 years of civil litigation experience.  His practice is concentrated in the areas of personal injury, product liability, medical mapractice, workers' compensation and criminal law.  Mr. Shields has been a frequent speaker and educator at continuing legal eduction seminars.  He is also a former president of the Richmond Trial Lawyers Association and listed in "Who's Who in American Law".  

Bill was also an attorney for the Virginia Chiropractic Association for twenty years and was a member of the Nation Association for Chiropractic Attorney's.  In the case of Chirkinian v. Liberty Mutual he won a precedent setting libel suit where the jury awarded a $100,000.00 verdict against an insurance company for defaming a chiropractor.  He has achieved numerous other successful results in court.

THOMAS C. BUNTING
Tom Bunting is a native of Delaware who came to Virginia in 1994 to attend the College of William & Mary.  In 1997 he earned a B.A. in Economics.  He then moved to Richmond and earned his J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 2000.  Tom spent the first 12 years of his career on the defense side, representing trucking companies, employers, and insurers in personal injury and workers' compensation matters.  In 2012, he began representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases, particularly railroad workers injured on the job.  Tom joined The Shields Law Firm in 2017 and now handles a wide variety of cases, including auto accidents, personal injury, divorce, child custody and support, and representation of credit card holders in disputes with credit card companies.

Tom is licensed to practice in all state courts throughout Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
